As we all know by now, I never get pictures in order and Dallin is so happy in this picture anyways... this is AFTER, the "indian chief" aka Papa has painted him with the colors of hope, faith, self control, love, peace, courage, and wisdom.

MORE AMBIANCE and ward tradition that has been let go for a few years kinda cool, when the boys earn their arrow of light they sign the teepee and make a drawing of some kind if they like, so we are restarting the tradition, Dallin and 2 other boys who have recently earned their Arrows of Light, were in attendance and added their names to the teepee and we will continue the traditionon now that David is the cubmaster.

I hate this picture I should photoshop out about 200 pounds, but the program won't work :( This is Dallin pinning me with my mothers pin, my cub side is all filled up, now we get tostart on the Boy Scout side in December! We still have LOADSof belt loops and he is going to work on earning his Cub Scout Atlete letter and pins and he still has 4 activity pins before he earns all 20 to earn that special award, so we have tons to do between now and then... he will be 11 before we know it! ELEVEN, my baby not really but when did this happen?
Here we are all looking SO SERIOUS as my dad is explaining about thechurch statistics about why we use scouting as the activity arm of the priesthood. We only send 30% of our young men out on missions. But, when a young man earns the rank of Eagle Scout 93% of those young men serve missions, and with the young men my dad has helped in one way or another on their trail to eagle he has proven that staicstic by 92.3% of the young men of age who have earned the rank of eagle and who have served missions. Dallin has scouting blood running through his veins, kid doesn't have a chance, he is so excited about scouting we are having a hard time holding him back! But, the neat thing is his favorite song we sang as our closing song was Called to Serve which may seem odd as a closing song for a Scouting Ceremony, until you look at how important the church holds scouting important to the priest programs and why. Look at President Monson a few Ensigns back and how highly decorated he is as a scout! Pretty darn impressive the awards he has been honored with, he is awesome!
This is the picture that is supposed to go before where Dallin is shown with all the paint on his face, this is where the chief is painting his face :) Someday, I will figure out how to organize this! I guess I am just too darn impatient!

Not too many children have their Great Grandparents available to come, and Dallin's just happened to be in town... and it was even Grandma's birthday! We appreciate them taking time to come over and help us honor Dallin it is special and rare for our children to have Great Grandparents and to have opportunities like this to share with them!

We are so grateful to everyone who came to support Dallinon this special occasion, his leaders who helped him get here, everyone in the 9th and 5th ward who has been so welcoming since we have moved in, Sister Miller has been great, and Sister Scribner as well,thank you Sister Fitzgerald for putting up with ALL of Dallin's awards he has been working hard and we don't mean to break the budget. We had a brief stint in Spanish Fork where he worked with Sister Wright and I was over the Bears when he was in there, thanks to me:) The BIGGEST thanks goes to our California Pack 224 which is where Dallin did most of his Cub Scouting, David was his leader on and off, Susan Lovett and Toria Roberts and Aunt Noelle all helped in getting him where he is today and we wish we had unlimited funds to have flown them here, so we could have thanked them properly, but they have played a BIG part in Dallin's Cub Scouting experience and the BEST is yet to come! We can't wait, really :)
